2015 Reverse Triathlon is May 31st!

5K Run, 20K Bike, 500 meter Swim

Registration for the 2015 CSULB Reverse Triathlon is now open!
 

We are thrilled to host the 11th annual CSULB Reverse Triathlon this year!

 

We have made a few changes to the course that was used in previous years, but they are changes that we are very excited about! The bike course has been condensed into a mini hill loop that will be completed 5 times and the run course takes place on the side walk adjacent to the bike course… can you say easy and fun spectating?! The swim will remain the same as last year's race. It is 10 lengths of the 50m pool.

There are three race options:

-5k Run Option: This race is the same route as the run portion of the triathlon.

-Reverse Triathlon: This consists of a 5K run, a 20K bike course with 5 hill loops, and a 500 meter open water style pool swim.

-Reverse Triathlon Relay: Tag team the triathlon with two of your friends!

 

 

Our goal for this race:

We are excited to host a race that is:

 

-Spectator friendly

-Beginner friendly (but also something fun and challenging for experienced triathletes to dig their teeth into!)

-Located on the beautiful campus of CSULB

-Student driven

-Family, friend, and community focused

-FUN and SAFE

 


*This is our biggest fundraiser of the year.  The funds generated from this event will be used for race entry fees, transportation, stationary supplies, uniforms, etc.

 

Event Schedule:

  •   5:30 am: Registration/Packet Pick up and Transition Open

  •    6:30 am: Registration and Packet pickup close.

  •    6:45 am: Transition Closes

  •    7:00 am: Triathlon and 5k Races Start

  •    7:45 am: Run course closes

  •    9:00 am: Bike course closes

  •    9:30 am: Awards

  •    10:00 am: Clean Up

 

Packet Pick Up/ Registration:

 

Information on packet pickup the day before the race will be announced soon. We highly encourage picking up your packet early to avoid rushing or waiting in line on Sunday morning.

20k Bike 

The bike will begin by following the black arrow path to the start of the mini loop, which will be completed 5 times, following the blue arrow path. The bike course ends by following the yellow arrow path back to transition. THE LOOP WILL BE CLEARLY MARKED WITH A START LOOP SIGN.  VOLUNTEERS WILL BE MARKING HANDS IF DESIRED.
5k Run
 

The run course will begin at the green dot. Athletes will run the large lap of blue arrows, pass the start, and continue back to transition following the yellow arrow path.

500 Meter Swim

The swim will consist of 10 snake-style lengths of a 50m pool. All athletes must enter the pool feet first.
